Orlando Bloom

At the number 10 spot on the “total box office revenue” list is Orlando Bloom. Orlando was born on January 13, 1977 in Canterbury, Kent, England to Harry and Joan Bloom. During his teenage years, and years after Harry had died, Orlando discovered that his biological father was a family friend named Colin Stone. Harry Bloom was unable to father children, and as any good friend would do, Stone stepped up.

Bloom had his first feature-acting role in 1997 as a rent boy in Wilde, a biopic of Oscar Wilde. His first major role, from 2001, may be familiar to you. He played Legolas in the film Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring. In addition to the Lord of the Rings trilogy, Bloom has also starring in Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy, Black Hawk Down, Troy, Kingdom of Heaven and more. It’s not hard to see why, even though he is # 10 on the list, he has the highest per film box office revenue, almost doubling the next actor on the list.

# 10 Orlando Bloom

Total box office revenue of his films: $2.28 billion

Total number of films*: 11

Average per film box office revenue: $207.2 million

Biggest box office smash: Pirate’s of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest - $423.3 million

Return to Top 10 list.

* This does not count cameos, small voice work, or movies that omitted gross earnings
