Once again, the Maryland Science Center in Baltimore will be bringing a great movie to the massive IMAX screen.

On Friday, November 6, 2009 Disney's A Christmas Carol will begin showing in 3D on the huge IMAX theater at the St. John Properties IMAX in Baltimore.  This is an animated version with Jim Carrey lending his voice to Scrooge.

Here is the official press release:

Disney’s A Christmas Carol comes to Baltimore’s only true IMAX

Jim Carrey’s performance is larger-than-life on the Maryland Science Center’s five-story screen

The will be no cries of “humbug!” when Disney’s highly anticipated retelling of the holiday classic A Christmas Carol opens at the Maryland Science Center’s St. John Properties IMAX Theater this Friday, November 6, 2009.

A Christmas Carol features Jim Carrey portraying seven characters including old curmudgeon Ebenezer Scrooge and the three ghosts he’s tormented by Christmas past, Christmas present, and Christmas yet-to-come. Scrooge is shown the error of his ways by his ghostly cohorts in an attempt to bring kindness to his heart. Scrooge will see the effects of his actions and the dire repercussions the future may hold if he does not change his ways.

Directed by Robert Zemekis, A Christmas Carol uses motion capture technology to transform the movie’s actors into computer-animated characters in a style similar to Zemekis instant classic, The Polar Express. Visitors to the Maryland Science Center will be immersed in the Disney 3D thrill ride by IMAX’s gigantic five story screen and crystal clear audio in Baltimore’s only true IMAX experience.

The Maryland Science Center is located at 601 Light Street at Baltimore’s Inner Harbor. For information and tickets, visit the website or call the 24-Hour Information Line at 410-685-5225.
