The slow ride on Interstate 15 has, hopefully, come to an end for drivers who don't need to exit the highway near the resort corridor.
Several of the newly-constructed express lanes were opened Friday, although the $21.5 million project won't be finished for several months.
One express lane will be open along northbound I-15 between Interstate 215 and Sahara Avenue. The lanes are marked by solid, double white lines. It is illegal for drivers to cross over them.
The addition means a total of four northbound lanes through the resort corridor and five lanes once drivers pass Spring Mountain Road.
Southbound express lanes are scheduled to open in November.
