Nintendo's Wii Remote

Nintendo World Report has reported that a judge has thrown out the case of Guardian Media Technologies versus Nintendo on June 8th. The patent-infringement lawsuit claimed that Nintendo violated a patent in the creation of the Wii Remote.

This isn't the first time that Nintendo has faced a lawsuit regarding the Wii Remote, but so far they haven't lost a case. Much like Apple and their fabled MultiTouch, Nintendo appears to have patented the device like crazy. Effectively, Sony and Microsoft have been forced to make their own way of motion sensing devices to set themselves apart, but third parties have finally made Wii Remotes for the console. Up until recent weeks, every player of the Wii required at least one official Nintendo Wii Remote.
