Here is a tough but great killer workout to try this weekend.
Drive to Shaker Heights' Thornton Park. Bring running shoes, and lots of water.
Park near the ice rink and walk past the pool and playground until you get to the large hill. The workout consists of running hills.
Start with a good warm up of jogging down the hill. Stretch out big time and do some jumping jacks and push ups to warm up.
Once warmed up and stretched out begin the workout. First sprint up the hill, try it both on grass and on the pavement. At the top of the hill rest. If you are in great shape run down the hill. If not walk down. Drink plenty of water in between sets.
Try to do 20 hills. If so inclined after the workout you can shower and then swim at the pool, although there are restrictions on non Shaker residents. Another good way to cool down is to go into the skating rink and just walk the bleachers. Continue to drink and stretch out.
To liven things up bring a partner and challenge that person to races up and down the hill.
Have a fit weekend,
Cheers
