Competing Halloween Events (All are Spoken Word and Poetry and/or Music Related) on Friday, October 30

The former Mile High Party candidate for President (he was narrowly beaten by Obama) Bob Lawrence, has put out his first chapbook titled Rock’ Roll Dreams and Other Poems. It was published by Naked Mannekin Press (they are a bit smaller than City Lights) and the cost is $8. You can order your own copy directly from Bob at 3623 N. Seeley or e-mail the publisher at nakedmannekin@gmail.com.

Bob Lawrence who is a powerful performer will be among the featured readers at a new venue at 3608 W.  Wrightwood (near Central Park and Wrightwood).  Lee (The Cure for Insomnia) Groban,  and Elizabeth (Fairy Tales Gone Awry) Harper  will also be featured, and there will be an open mic-less portion in the show. If there is sufficient interest this may become a monthly show. This spoken word  suaree will be hosted by Vittorio (what is he doing on-stage?) Carli, whose record for developing long running poetry shows is slightly less impressive than Gregorio Gomez’s. But that’s enough self mocking.

Another promising related poetry event will occur the same evening. Here’s the info.
