The LA Art Show invite

Tonight LA's social set will gather at the downtown Convention Center to celebrate the arts and raise money for three non-profits: LACMA's Art Museum Council, its Print & Drawings Council, Inner City Arts, and the Environmental Media Association. The event will feature over 145 galleries and over 10,000 pieces of art. The event is expected to bring collectors and patrons together in the room with artists and dealers and bolster the sagging art economy. Art lovers and enthusaists are also encouraged to come and participate as there will be panel discussions, lectures, and quite a few parties.

LA Contemporary Gallery will be showing the artwork (pictured above) of now-deceased artist Adi Da Samraj, fresh from a successful showing at SCOPE Miami.  Stay tuned as I will be live-blogging the gala tonight and throughout the rest of the week. Cheers and Happy Obama!
