Check your cell, it might be your kitty trying to reach you from home. Well, probably not, but it definitely could sound like your cat is calling. With Phonezoo.com, your cat's meow, purr or hiss could be your new favorite ringtone.
Tell your dog-loving friends, too! The Web site allows users to create free ringtones out of any sound and send it directly to a phone via text message. Other users on Phonezoo will also be able to download it, and you'll be able to to post the sound to Facebook.
“We started the site with the goal of allowing users to create ringtones out of their favorite sounds – whether it be a popular song or their pets sound,” Phonezoo.com’s founder Manish Vaidya said in an article on PEOPLE Pets.
You can also give others the gift of your cat's meow at Catchannel.com. The site is now asking for kitty ringtones and will post yours to their Web site for others to download.
Other than getting our felines to meow on cue, the process is easy. Phonezoo.com will walk you through the how-tos upon sign up and even offers tutortial videos on their help page.
Is there a catch? Not really, but check with your cell carrier just in case. While Phonezoo doesn't charge for their services, cell phone companies may charge for receiving texts and downloading data, which can be expensive depending on your plan.
So what will your cat think of being your ringtone? Phonezoo user LittleSnugs downloaded his cat's meow to Phonezoo says "my cat tried to eat my phone first time I played it back to him."
