Each week, the Houston Cats Examiner will tell you about a few kitties in need of a loving home. Millions of animals are put down each year, but by adopting versus buying from a pet store or breeder, you can help.
Please check out the "Adopt a Cat" box in the right-hand column of this page for links to local shelters with more deserving felines in need of families.
* The Houston Cats Examiner thanks each shelter for use of information and photos and for simply helping animals on a daily basis.

Tipper

I was tossed aside like a piece of trash and left for dead until someone found me and brought me to a vet for a check up. That person then found out that I had a vision problem, so they abandoned me at the vet's office. No one seems to think that a kitty can get around the house with bad vision. Well they are wrong! I prefer a one story house, no young children, someone who doesn't move the furniture around a lot, and must have a kind heart. I enjoy playing with shinny things, sitting in the window getting a sun tan and curling up in your lap while you watch television with me. I am looking for love.

Sampson

I'm a three-year-old Siamese boy. I'm laid back and very independent, and I like to oversee eveything. I am such a handsome boy and will look into your eyes with my pretty blues.

Tuesday

I am a 1-year-old domestic medium-hair calico girl searching for a purrrfect forever home. After being thrown from a moving vehicle, I consider myself lucky to have another chance at life. Even though I've had a rough life so far, I'm VERY sweet-natured and enjoy the affections of kind humans. I would love to be your friend every day of the week and for years to come!

Mickey
I'm a six-year-old brown tabby boy who loves getting petted. I will start off timid and quiet, but if you approach me and speak to me gently, I will warm up to you. I'm a cat who is well worth your patience! I will need lots of love and time to settle into my new home ... preferably a quiet, all-adult household. Another non-aggressive cat is fine too, because I'm very gentle.

Peggy

I'm a beautiful long-haired tortoiseshell girl, and I'm only about six-months old! I would love to have a home where someone would have time to play with me. I'd also make a great companion for another kitty. I've been at the shelter for two months already, so please come get me outta here!
