Give a feline a family this Friday

Each week, the Houston Cats Examiner will tell you about a few kitties in need of a loving home. Millions of animals are put down each year, but by adopting versus buying from a pet store or breeder, you can help.

Please check out the "Adopt a Cat" box in the right-hand column of this page for links to local shelters with more deserving felines in need of families. A full list of shelters in and around Houston is available by visiting http://www.alltheanimals.org/shelterslist.html.

Ameilia

I'm a three-year-old tortoise-shell girl who would love to be part of your family. I'm so unique looking and know that you would love to give me love and attention, which I am craving.

Want to adopt Ameila? Please contact the Citizens for Animal Protection at 281-497-0591 or visit them online to reach their foster parents at http://www.cap4pets.org/pet-adoptions/cat-adoption.

Zappa

I'm a gorgeous two-year-old boy in need of a loving home. I'm all white and my fur is short. I'm a gentleman still in my youth, so some play time is definitely a plus, but I can also be content sleeping near you and I love being petted.

Want to adopt Zappa? Please contact the Citizens for Animal Protection at 281-497-0591 or visit them online at  http://www.cap4pets.org/pet-adoptions/cat-adoption.

Sweety

I'm an eight-year-old pretty grey and white girl who is very loving. I also love food, a little too much! If you want me to be a part of your family, you may need to put me on a bit of a diet so I lose some of this weight before it hurts my health. If you'd like to help me accomplish that goal and have my love for ever, please give me a home.

Want to adopt Sweety? Please contact the Houston SPCA online at http://www.houstonspca.org/site/PageNavigator/adopt_main_cats

  Brigitte

I'm a beautiful girl who is almost a year old. I have long hair and loved to be brushed, but most of all I really love to play. I'm still a kitten even though my first year has flown by! Please give me a home to grow old in and a new family.

Want to adopt Brigitte? Please visit the Houston Humane Society online at http://www.houstonhumane.org/adoptions/index.aspx.
