Info 101: Meditation and relaxation are keys to healthy stress management
Cit y people, perhaps more than any others, need a good relaxation and meditation practice to keep focused and happy.
A key to healthy stress management is asking yourself during the day: "how do I feel?"
Sister Jenna, author, spiritual leader and Washington D.C. director of the India based, Brahma Kumaris World Spiritual Organization has devoted more than 20 years to encouraging a natural acceptance of spirituality in the daily life of busy city people.
She offers a simple meditation you can do anytime of day, when you're on the bus or train to and from work or just during a break.
BECOMING PEACEFUL AND FULL OF ENERGY
A simple relaxation meditation
Sit quietly....breath in and out a few times...... and inside of your mind engage in this dialogue.
1. Forget your name....and check how you feel
2.Forget your gender...check how you feel
3.Forget your role/s and title/s...check how you feel...
4.Forget your body, check how you feel....
pause...don't rush your experience or feeling, but allow yourself to fall into it...Remind yourself, if I have no name, gender, role, or body, how would I feel...LIBERATED
Sister Jenna: I think the first thing we need to do is acknowledge how important it is for us to become self realized -- that is, peaceful and full of energy. Meditation is a means to help us towards that.
Without this acknowledgment we will not find the interest to want to change ourselves to make our minds a more peaceful place of space to live from.
Who am I, excuse me, do you know? How do I find out?
We spend 24 hours a day with ourselves and yet we do not know who we are. Meditation is a means to use silence and spiritual wisdom to gain experiences of our original and eternal existence.
Our thoughts are moving faster than the speed of light. Are we more peaceful today? For an instant experience of inner peace and power, here is a simple step that anyone can practice to get closer to feeling self realized:
When your inner world begins to feel liberated you are moving closer to self realization. In meditation, you gain glimpses of this experience and as a result your interest in wanting to increase the experience of self realization enhances.
Inner Peace Requires Good Traffic Control
Consider this to be your traffic control. Create a timer on your computer or cell phone that will ring in every two hours and for a few minutes day, practice this simple technique and your inner peace and inner powers that defines a self realized person will increase and eventually become natural for you.
