I am declaring Mondays to be FEEL GREAT MONDAY. It's the most dreaded day of the week, so why not turn Monday into something fun?
It's the start of a new week for most of us so why not take the opportunity to re-new what you really want at work, relationships and in your mind, body and soul and act on it.
Do something that you truly enjoy. Not just temporay satisfaction, but real goodness.
Healthy Monday, founded by several powerhouse non-profit health organizations, is changing the way we think and feel about our health.
Fortunately some of the thinking has been done for us. From Meatless Monday to Quit Monday, Mindfulness Monday and a whole lot more, participating groups and just plain-old empowered citizens are declaring Mondays to be healthy. Of course that doesn't mean you should declare Tuesdays "drunken bender day" just to "even things out," Make EVERY day healthy, but let's start somewhere.
Do a physical activity you enjoy. I train traditional martial arts. I also do gyrotonic/gyrokinesis, yoga or for a more relaxed activity massage or Alexander Technique.
I will wield the awesome power of this Monday column to empower and inspire you to feel good about yourself. Reminding you that in fact, you do have electrifying potential within, just waiting to be set free. And act now, supplies are unlimited.
I don't care who you are, student or CEO, or you just got laid off, we all get lost occasionally and forget why we're here and what we contribute to the upward flow.
You now have a personal coach, congratulations go tell your friends. Appreciate what you already have and what you are good or great at and how you can bring more of it into the world.
Create a specific action you will and want to take to confirm your greatness and potential for greatness. The greatness that comes from inside and quite naturally inspires others to MORE too.
You don't have to do anything profound. Today I took the momentous action of cleaning my bedroom. A good vacuum and a throwing out old papers made me feel energized and renewed. Renewed enough to create Feel Great Monday!
Maybe you want to create a new catch-phrase for yourself - "I can" instead of whatever unintended negative or blocking thought that's rolling around in your head right now. Maybe you actually take action on that gym membership or paint that picture.
Practice feeling greatness all the time, but if you forget; Monday is here to re-mind you. Not in that stern finger-pointing way, Monday would not do that, but instead in an off-kilter smile and friendly wave "hey, how's it goin'!' kind of way.
