Cute cats are on the Internet EVERY DAY--and you
can even adopt this Furry Friend

Be furwarned—if you support the idea of today being a cat-free day on the Internet, step away from your computer. But, if you’re curious as a cat to know more, keep on reading.

In what can only be described as a blatant bid for pubhissity, ulesque.com, a web site that tracks Internet trends, has declared that 9.9.09 should be a day without cats on the Internet. They purrport that there’s way too much cattitude on line from funny cat photos to videos and purrclaim that there are columns of columns about cats. They think we’re in kitty cat overload and thus, are asking for a ban on cat coverage for one whole day.

Urlesque.com is trying to make it seem as if “cats need a break,” telling us that this day is “for the cats.” Prepawsterous. Why would cats want us to abstain from cyber-adoration for even a minute, let alone a whole day? You also always know when your cat thinks you’ve had enough computer time—he or she will simply sit on your keyboard or smother your mouse. Then, and only then, is it game over.

What’s the problem with there being cute cat photos, videos, and articles available 24/7? Furthermore (hey, that one works all by itself!), an informal poll of completely nonbiased individuals (some of whom have whiskers—and sharp claws) revealed that there is massive support for the icanhascheezburger.com sentiment: EVERYDAY IS CATURDAY!

So, perhaps avoid urlesque.com today instead. If you go there, what you’ll find is lots of bunny photos (really cute--but that’s not the point!) and lots of bunny coverage, since rabbits won the urlesque on line vote as today’s substitute subject. Don’t give them the hiss, er hits they’re hoping for. Instead, spend some (extra) time on lion at your favorite cat web sites today and check out all the cat articles on Examiner.com.

And, be sure to adore your own cat(s) extra hard today, and try not to have a hissy fit: this is really all in good fur, er fun. And, remember tomorrow, after all, is Purrsday.
