Foster an ASPCA kitty and spend summer snuggling

If you’re an animal lover in the New York City area, why not consider fostering a cat or kitten from the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) this summer? You’ll be helping the ASPCA maximize the number of kitties they can care for, you’re sure to have one of your most memorable summers ever, and it won’t cost you a penny. The ASPCA provides foster parents with everything they need to keep their charges comfy, including food, necessary supplies, and any required medications.

While the ASPCA is always looking for good foster homes for cats and dogs, the summer is high season for felines. Why? Because thousands of kittens are born in the spring and are brought into shelters across the city.  And, in typical New York City fashion, space is at a premium.

The ASPCA Foster Care Program is ready to interview you if you think you can become a kitty caretaker this summer. Foster care stays vary in length but can average between two and twelve weeks. Available cats include mothers with litters, young kittens, and adult cats.

If you qualify, you’ll need to attend a short, fun, and easy Cat Behavior class. The ASPCA remains ready to answer any questions or concerns that arise once you and your new feline friend have begun getting to know one another in your home.

For more information contact the ASPCA at (212) 876-7700, or visit www.aspca.org.
