The official numbers for autism diagnosis is now 1 in 100, according to Kathleen Sebelius, the Secretary with US Health and Human Services.  As previously reported, the CDC has revised the numbers for autism from 1 in 150 to officially 1 in 100.

According to David Kirby, who spoke to Sebelius by phone, Sebelius is quoted, "the prevalence of autism might be higher than previously thought.  We don't know if it has gone up, and are hoping to unlock these mysteries."

Director of the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) and Chair of the Interagency Autism Coordinating Committee, Thomas R. Insel, confirmed that CDC data will show later this year that 100 per 1,000 children will be shown to have autism.  This confirms my 1 in 100 report earlier this month.
