We've followed her as a spokesperson for Weight Watchers and seen her in commercials. As the mother to Queen Elizabeth's granddaughters, you would think that Sarah Ferguson would be one of the more financially secure single moms in all the world. Right?
Wrong! Reports are out that Ferguson had to cancel a lavish 50th birthday party and is facing the threats from her creditors and the possibility of bankruptcy. The talk is that she has self-control issues when it comes to money and indulgent spending.
This, despite the fact that she's authored several books, including My Story, Little Miss Autumn's Adventure, and perhaps a dozen or so more.
I was surprised and disappointed to hear this news. It annoys me when someone who has absolutely everything at their fingertips, blows it. Is it too much to ask that Fergie live like the rest of us - on a budget? Life's lessons are not impossible to learn: Work hard and get paid. Don't spend more than you earn. Put a little aside for a rainy day.
I hope for Beatrice and Eugenie's sakes, that they learn from their "mum's" mistakes and keep their heads on straight. Happy birthday, Sarah Ferguson. But please google Dave Ramsey and learn how to pay off debt and live within your means!
