Everyday women apply at least one coat of their favorite mascara to darken, extend and add volume to their lashes. According to Allure magazine "the mascara industry is a billion dollar a year industry in the U.S alone." But what if we could all stimulate the growth of our natural lashes to achieve the desired results?
Latisse is the first FDA approved product to help inadequate lashes become fuller, darker, and longer. Brand ambassador celebrity eyebrow expert Anastasia Soare, who works closely with many celebrity clients and product spokesperson actress Brooke Shields were both in attendance at last night’s Latisse event at the Ritz Carlton to sing praises about what it has done to their own lashes. Brooke claims she saw results within six weeks of using the product. She has incorporated into her nightly routine by simply gliding it over the base of the lash line much like liquid eyeliner. During studies most women experienced a twenty-five percent increase in the growth of their lashes.
Latisse was created after ophthalmologists noticed that patients using the glaucoma drug Lumigan began growing lashes. Some were so long that they needed to be trimmed. Researchers were able to exact the ingredient that was stimulating the hair growth. However, there are a few possible side effects including dryness, redness, and in some cases an eye color change.
Latisse has teamed up with the Make-A-Wish foundation to donate at least $500,000 but the have agreed to donate an additional five dollars for every person that registers at Latisse.com. The proceeds will go to your local Make-A-Wish foundation.
