Despite a spirited and often heated debate, Cap and Trade just barely passed in the House of Representatives by a vote of 219-211. Senate GOP leaders are already calling the bill dead in the upper chamber.
Within a minute of the final vote tally, people were already asking me who the Republican sell-outs on the bill were. Here's the list:
For some reason still unknown to me, Congressman Jeff Flake is recorded as not voting. Based on his previous voting record, it is very unlikely that he would have voted for this legislation.
It looks like fiscally conservative Republicans, the Libertarian Party and the Constitution Party now have some more low hanging fruit to gather. Also, if these eight Representatives are beaten up badly enough on the Internet, it will make it tougher for some Republican Senator to go Arlen Specter on the bill.
