Festival of the Masters, a free outdoor art festival with live entertainment, takes place November 13 through 15 at Downtown Disney. Almost 150 award-winning artists will compete in the festival, which is in its 34th year at Downtown Disney.
Featuring signature art by three-time festival winner Joe Kaminski, Festival of the Masters is considered one of the top outdoor art festivals in the nation. At the same time, the House of Blues Folk Art Festival (held at Downtown Disney West Side) offers local and national folk art, music, and children's ativities.
Additional entertainment comes in the form of massive chalk art demonstrations, as artists create temporary pieces of art on the sidewalks of the Downtown Disney Marketplace. Kids can get in on the act at a special children's area. Artists will also be on hand outside DisneyQuest Indoor Interactive theme park to teach children how to draw Disney characters. Meanwhile the Dock Stage plays host to a DJ dance party each afternoon during Festival of the Masters. Cirque du Soleil offers guests the chance to meet some of the show's performers, plus face painting and balloons.
Festival of the Masters marks the beginning of the holiday shopping season at Downtown Disney. In order to take a break from the crowds, guests should make reservations at one of the themed restaurants at Downtown Disney Marketplace, West Side, or Pleasure Island.
