The much-loved tall ship, The Adventuress, will be in Friday Harbor on Sunday, June 28th for a three-hour public sailing from 1 pm to 4 pm.  If you are looking for an experience you and the family will talk about for years to come, this is it.

Passengers on the Adventuress don’t just take their seats and gaze out at the view.  They are encouraged to sing sea chanteys, help raise the ship’s sails,  take a turn at the helm, and learn what it is like to live and work aboard a historic wooden sailing ship.

In addition to the nautical experiences, passengers can participate in a variety of hands-on presentations about the rich and threatened Puget Sound marine environment.

What to bring:

  • A hat and sunscreen are always a good idea
  • Dress in layers and bring a jacket—even hot days can be cool on the water.
  • A water bottle, and a snack (Coffee and tea are available on board.)
  • Non-slip, closed-toe shoes are recommended to avoid catching toes on cleats and deck lines.

The cruise is FREE for members of the Sound Experience.  Non-members are $40 for adults, and $20 for youth under 18.

The boat ties up at the Port of Friday Harbor just across from the Washington State Ferry Dock.  Look for the 110 foot mast and a crowd of admirers and head down the dock for one of the best summer afternoons of your life.

To register for the cruise, call Karen at 360-379-0438 or register on-line.  You can also become a Sound Experience member at this same page.
