Talk about your strange celebrity gossip blending with exotic car news. "Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen" has been the latest summer blockbuster movie hit thanks to the talents of our favorite, "... running and screaming" actress Megan Fox. Because of or in spite of her lack of lines in the movie, she's become the newest Americana pin-up girl sensation to hit the walls of mechanics' garages and teenage boy bedrooms across the across the United States.
HOT FOX AT BAY
Word behind the scenes on how the script-bored thespian beauty won the starring role in the film series is that producer Micheal Bay actually had her audition for him personally and filmed her washing his car.
Yep -- serious stuff.
Miss Fox had to be talented and trustworthy for such a task, and Bay reportedly drives a Ferrari. Not only did she have to look good and appear enthusiastic, she had to really know what she was doing to touch a car that has a paint job that is so cherry.
We'll limit the hand auto wash and wax job jokes out of courtesy to the actress, as she is so obviously aware of her own sex object objectification if you have been following any of her recent interviews. The poor girl would like to be taken seriously for an acting roll or two, but beauty is driving her fan base (we guess that is what perky poses and badly written movie scripts will tend to do if you are a celebrity girl with pinup qualities to the physical you).
BREAKING AUTO MOVIE NEWS: TRANSFORMERS 2
Celebrity review site Cinematical reports,
"With Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen approaching the $600 million mark at the box office, making it the second film behind The Dark Knight to do so this fast, we thought it might be fun to take a look back at how this all began..."
"Page Six tells... just how Megan Fox nabbed the role in the first place. According to them, when Michael Bay auditioned her for the first Transformers, he actually made her wash his Ferrari while he filmed the whole thing. Yup. She washed his car. His Ferrari. While he filmed her. And that's how she got the role in Transformers. If you need anymore proof of just how perverted Hollywood is sometimes, look no further than Mr. Michael Bay. Oh, but it gets better ..."
"Apparently this video exists somewhere, though no one knows where it is. (Um, have you checked Bay's sock drawer?) Fox says she doesn't know what happened to the footage, and when Page Six asked Bay, he said he didn't know what happened to it either."
FERRARI CAR WASH VIDEO RUMOR WITH MEGAN FOX NEITHER CONFIRMED OR DENIED
Clearly, whether or not the report is true will be a mystery that goes down in auto pop culture history. If the footage of foxy Fox does exist, it might end up becoming one of the greatest Ferrari promotional videos of all time.
If and when the tape(s) pop up on the web or in the mass media press, we'll revisit the story again.
Until then, the only exotic car news we were able to derive from the film [which we went to on opening day] was that it included an opening scene with an Audi R8, and all the Transformer machines themselves proved to be all American. We have to admit, though, that the actress was driving a pretty cool Italian motorcycle -- an Aprilla (scene right).
Like Fox reported in interviews both before and after the premier, "There were very few scenes where I was not running and screaming... or where they [the directors] were not blowing something up." The fit actress was up to the task, however, and persevered to show her stuff.
What was the hardest part of making the film for Fox? The actress cites her wardrobe, saying that it was not very conducive to all the action and diving out of the way while avoiding flying debris from explosions. She says the job would have been easier if she had knee pads.
I'm serious. [Do you think I could make such a funny story line up?]
I'm giving this girl a big gold star for having moxie and a well developed sense of humor dealing with the "celebrity gossip absurd". Thanks for Playing in Traffic, Megan. Exotic car fans will keep seeing your movies, I'm sure, for better or for worse.
And to Michael Bay? Good call on hiring Megan Fox to star in the feature's key supporting actress role, whether or not you got your Ferrari washed, buffed, and waxed by her for your critical viewing analysis (anyways). Thanks for giving the world a girl-next-door image to replace the 1970s photos of the forever loved Ms. Farrah Fawcett.
So far, the Megan Fox Audition Tape video (seen below) is all car fans worldwide have got.
