When schools close for any holiday due to holiday vacations or during inclement weather, boys and girls need plenty of free or low cost activities to do. Mix drawing and dream cars and you've got hours of entertainment plans ready at hand. Take lesson plan advice from home school educators; with exotic cars as your discussion topic, pick a favorite Lamborghini model to have children draw as their art project subject on their day off from school -- and turn your living room or kitchen table into an "exotic locale" for a classroom.

Are you a car loving mom or dad looking for a great activity for children on a school vacation day like Memorial Day, Veterans Day, or teacher workday?

Did you just get the announcement school is closing for bad weather? Have you found yourself with children needing a fun hobby or skill activity to master over the school break or summer? Perhaps you're a grandparent, babysitter, or nanny  just looking for something fun and artistic to do with kids for the day -- or a part time mother or father with custody of your son or daughter looking for something to use as a bonding activity on a long visitation weekend.

Whatever your situation, finding ways to keep children and parents simultaneously entertained is oftentimes hard to do. It takes a delicate balance of creativity, fast thinking, and some simple creativity when planning things to do in order to create a successful "family fun times" equation. However, if you are an avid car enthusiast, here's a quick solution to keep children and grown ups equally involved in participation.

The supply list and directions reads as follows:

  1. Pick up a pad of paper, construction paper,  some loose leaf sheets of notebook paper, or copy paper
  2. Add some pencils, colored markers, or pens to a coffee mug to make a portable art stand
  3. Grab your last handy edition of the duPont Registry magazine (or head to the Internet to download and print your favorite free exotic car images)
  4. Head in or out to find your perfect sit down spot (and bring a lap desk or drawing board if you won't be at a table)
  5. Have yourself a dream car drawing festival and conversation that's fun for parents AND all ages of children
