events throughout Sacramento.

Celebrate Halloween with these family-friendly events throughout the Sacramento area.

 

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 23

 

Have a good time with the entire family at Fairytale Town’s Safe & Super Halloween: Magical Mystery Tour. There will be 17 candy stations, a costume parade, a puppet show and more. The event honors The Beatles and visitors can stroll down Penny Lane, visit Strawberry Fields and take a picture with Sgt. Pepper and the Yellow Submarine. This event runs from Friday, October 23 to Sunday, October 25.

Cost: Presale tickets is $7 for members/$10 for nonmembers. Day of event tickets are $9 for members/$12 for nonmembers. Puppet show is $1 for members/$2 for nonmembers. Tickets can be purchased online.
Special Note: Gates will close at 2 p.m. daily during this special event.

 

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 24

 

IKEA at West Sacramento will host a free Halloween kids craft event. It is open to the public and is on a first come, first served basis.

The First Congregational Church of Auburn will be the spot for the 4th Annual Halloween Carnival. There will be a haunted house, prizes, games, costume contest and more.
Time: 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 31

 

For a daytime Halloween experience, visit Midtown businesses. Shops participating in this event will display a special post on their premises. There will be live entertainment along the way, including a magician, a children’s musical band and a face painting artist.
Time: 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Address: From Capitol Avenue to J Street and from 16th Street to 27th Street

Parking: Parking freeze will be in effect at metered spaces from I Street to Capitol Avenue and from 16th Street to 29th Street. Area lots will be open, but keep an eye out for the lot on 17th and L streets where parking is only $2.
Special Note: Not all businesses will have bathroom facilities available, but there will be portable potties throughout the area. However, Sutter’s Fort State Historic Park and Indian Museum (27th and L streets) and the Governor’s Mansion (15th and H streets) do have restroom facilities.

 

Crocker Art Museum will host a safe Halloween event for ages 5 and younger. Kids can dress up in their costumes for a parade, go trick-or-treating, watch a puppet show or participate in various art stations.

Families can have have a spooktacular time at Boo at the Zoo. This two-day event – Oct. 30 to 31 - features trick-o-treating, crafts, games, magic shows, a creepy carousel, a kid’s haunted house and more. This event is best for kids 10 and younger.
Time: 4:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., nightly.

Cost: $9 general/ $5 members/ Free for kids 2 and younger. Tickets can be purchased online.

 

Bring your kids to IKEA at West Sacramento for a safe night of trick-o-treating. This event is geared toward kids 3 to 12 years of age. Trick-o-treaters can meander throughout the store and visit at various stations to pick up their treats.

The Fountains at Roseville will celebrate Halloween with a costume parade and trick-o-treating. The Main Street will be closed to cars, so little goblins and ghouls can enjoy a safe Halloween.

Roller King in Roseville will celebrate “National Roller Skating Month” with free admission on Halloween, as long as you bring a canned food donation. Wear your costumes and play games and win prizes. Donations will benefit the Roseville Salvation Army.
