Summer reading lists for children that celebrate New York State

Looking for suggestions for some summer reading for your child?  Many schools provide summer reading lists for children as do most local libraries.

If you're looking for something more specific, however, The New York State Library Association has provided a series of recommended reading for children concerning the history and diversity that is New York. The lists are arranged by category  - picture books, elementary, tween, teen and up and include various genre such as fiction and nonfiction.

They also provide geographic information about where you can obtain the books, including formats for those with special needs.
