Adults wage war and children suffer: stories of the children of Gaza

 Mention the Gaza Strip and you are bound to evoke a myriad of emotions. Adults are politically divided over the recent violence and many prefer to stay silent rather than risk a vocal confrontation.

So, while adults engage in political debates, children have been crippled, maimed, murdered, and traumatized.

No matter which ideological side of the conflict we may find ourselves sympathizing with, most rational adults agree that it is unacceptable for children, who are innocent of the actions around them, to have been made into victims.

According to the United Nations, 1 out of 3 people who have been killed in Gaza have been children.  Experts say that the effects of the violence will be long lasting for those who have survived, as it has taught them that "no place is safe."
