Ethnic inspired prints from the globe never really go “out of style” but this season, Ikat printed clothing can be found in your favorite (budget friendly) retailer stores. According to Wikipedia, Ikat, or Ikkat, is a style of weaving that uses a resist dyeing process similar to tie-dye on either the warp or weft before the threads are woven to create a pattern or design. The Ikat style has origins in India and South-East Asia, but is used in some form in countries around the globe.
 
Whether you want to go head-to-toe in an Ikat-inspired print or just wrap a scarf around your shoulders as you go in and out of air-conditioning during the hot weather months, there is a way for women of all ages (and sizes) to wear this trend without spending too much money. Here are a few Ikat-inspired prints you might like:
