Sarah Palin just has to remember a few rules
Sarah Palin can win the debate, if she listens to me

As I have pointed out in prior articles, there is no question that Governor Palin is totally unqualified as a potential Vice President; she lacks the required “gravitas” as the pundits say, the few interviews she has been allowed to give demonstrate a shallowness of thought, a hopeless lack of relevant experience and political baggage that would ordinarily disqualify her in the usual – but absent here -- vetting process. She has, except in the minds and hearts and wishes of committed ideologues, and Fox News, become an object of humor and derision on television by quoting her verbatim.

On next Friday morning, Sarah Palin will be judged to have won the upcoming debate.

This “victory” may well not translate unto votes but the expectations for Governor Palin are so low, she cannot fail to meet them.

It has already been established that the Governor is totally unfamiliar with foreign countries, their capitals, political leaders and importance in the world; likewise geography, science, Supreme Court decisions, the positions of Senator McCain and such are not within her area of knowledge. If she is quiet during the debate, does not try and elaborate beyond memorized “talking points”, she’ll be fine,

As long as Governor doesn’t sneer and act mean toward Senator Biden, as long as she doesn’t drool or fall down, she’ll be running ahead of those expectations. If I may be so bold, or nervy, to offer a suggestion or two, they would be to avoid any comment on

  • ·         Charging rape victims for the cost of rape kits;
  • ·         Obtaining background information on international affairs by visiting the new IHOP restaurant in her home town. Eating Belgium waffles won’t tell her the location and leaders of Belgium;
  • ·         Taking credit for Canadian troops not invading the United States because of her providing direction to her state’s National Guard;
  • ·         Her feelings about which Supreme Court decisions over the past 50 years or so that she would want overturned; and
  • ·         Her wanting to teach children in the public schools that the earth was created about 6,000 years ago in a week and the only people here were one man and one woman and, in addition, a talking snake.

If she does all that, she’ll be a shoo-in!
