Tennessee State Haunted MuseumThe Tennessee State Museum’s annual ghost story festival, Haunted Museum, is back for its ninth year, and this family-oriented event takes place from 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 24.

The Haunted Museum, which is free to the public, features a “ghost trail” through the museum with prizes, crafts, and refreshments along the way. At various stops along the trail travelers will be treated to chilling ghost stories from Tennessee’s past, including the Bell Witch of Adams and the Cherokee spirit, Spearfinger. The trail concludes at the tall tales stage where professional storytellers will regale the audience with stories about Tennessee.

Children who complete each ghost trail stop will receive prizes, and those attending the Haunted Museum are invited to wear costumes and enjoy complimentary refreshments.

The Tennessee State Museum is located at Fifth and Deaderick Streets in downtown Nashville and is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. On Saturdays, parking is free at state employee parking lots to the west of the State Capitol.
