Virgin Atlantic bride and groom

I get regular updates from Virgin Atlantic, my favorite carrier to London's Heathrow. I like their open wine bar on most crossings, and the relatively relaxed attitude of the crew. It may not be quite a relaxed as on Southwest. A while back, I wrote about a "contest" run coming into DC after Barack Obama had won the U.S. presidency. It was lots of fun, and took the mind off landing, always tricky for reformed white-knuckle flyers. While Virgin Atlantic isn't always a laugh riot like Southwest, they do have that dry British sense of humor. Hence, the photo at the right, which  is just part of Virgin Atlantic's April Fool's promotion that came in my morning email.  Click here for the whole thing...and get the month off to a good start.

Just to round out your day's entertainment, here's one reason I love Southwest:

As for Aer Lingus, are there any more beautiful people anywhere? Old, young...whatever...happy, content, helpful, enjoying life.  Always makes me enjoy the journey! (I admit to Irish bias! Just look at my surname, won't ya?)

Book any one of these airlines; for my money, they offer the best trip for the best prices, all around. And they are three of the safest airlines in the world (Aer Lingus has never had a fatal event.) And that's NOT an April Fool's claim.  Check here.

Slainte!  Irish for Cheers!
