Patton Oswalt is a talented comedian who also happens to be an atheist. He’s been in various TV shows and films, such as Reno 911!, etc, and he acted as a writer for the new movie Funny People. This Sunday, the 23rd, he has a new special airing on Comedy Central called My Weakness is Strong, at 9pm (central time). He also stars in the new movie, Big Fan, in theaters August 28th. If you’re open-minded and enjoy comedy, he’s worth checking out.

A little about Patton, he’s 40, married and his first child  (daughter) was born in April of this year. Patton was born and raised in Virginia and first started performing stand-up comedy in the late 80s, in San Francisco. He is often associated with the other comedians he toured with for Comedians of Comedy (2005), Zach Galifianakis (The Hangover), Brian Posehn (The Sarah Silverman Show) and Maria Bamford.

The clips below are from his 2004 special, No Reason to Complain. In the first one he talks about The Passion of The Christ and in the second, the idea that George Bush could bring about the biblical apocalypse.

Enjoy!
(forward to 5:00 for The Passion reference)

(forward to 3:00 for the apocalypse)
