The Military Association of Atheists and Freethinkers (MAAF) has just announced that it will be awarding grants to to encourage and support nontheist military student leaders in cooperation with the Secular Student Alliance. MAAF will award $500 to a student leader who has demonstrated excellence in both military and nontheist activities. Service may be either past or current and is not restricted to any branch of the military. Applications may be found here and will be accepted until October 13th, 2009.
 
MAAF is a community support network that connects military members from around the world with each other and with local organizations.
