Joymax is waging war on bots and hacks in their fantasy MMORPG Silkroad Online.

Combining their recently revamped bot detection system with a new “three strikes” rule, Joymax continues to hunt down and purge accounts that are using illegal programs -- and even has a "Bot Punishment" list you can view on their home page as a "wall of shame".

Suspected accounts will be blocked for seven days for the first offense, 14 for the second, and permanently banned with the mighty BanHammer after a third strike.

To celebrate the campaign, Joymax is hosting two contests on the event site: a Bug Hunt and a Cheering Challenge. Catch all the bugs that pop up on the event page and you'll be entered for a drawing to win a brand-new avatar cash item. In addition, if you leave encouraging messages ("cheers") on the event page as part of the Cheering Challenge, you'll also be automatically entered in the drawing. Ten entrants (five from each event) will be selected to win.

“Hacks, bots, and other illegal programs affect the quality of Silkroad Online for every player in the game. Thus it’s natural for us to get the community involved and raise awareness around the issue of cheating.
--Jina Song, General Manager at Joymax

About SilkRoad

Joymax, based in Seoul, Korea, launched Silkroad Online in 2004. Silkroad Online has more than 18 million registered users and 170,000 concurrent players worldwide.

Silkroad Online is an MMORPG that takes place in an historical world of Chinese and European civilizations along the Silk Road trade route. Traveling across Jangan, from China to Constantinople, you can make your fortune as a merchant, prey on the rich as a thief, or hire yourself out as a mercenary bodyguard as a hunter.

The most recent expansion, Legend III Roc Mountain, added new territory, quests, weapons, and an increased level cap.
