Prototype, the shape-shifting action-adventure game from Activision, is now available via Steam in North America. It will be available globally on June 12th. 

Prototype puts you in the role of Alex Mercer -- a man with no memory and armed with amazing shape-shifting abilities -- as he delves into his past to pierce the conspiracy that created him and discover his origin. 

Alex can reconfigure his body to deal with virtually any situation -- particularly those involving violence and dynamic movement, of course. You can create Claws, Blades, Hammers, shields, armor, or even increase or change your senses to grant powers like thermal vision.

In addition, Alex can seamlessly and fluidly leap from building to building, run up walls, bounce off cars and everything else. Adaptive parkour lets you move freely through the open-world environments of New York City. 

Last, but not least, you can disguise yourself by 'consuming' enemies -- taking on their appearance and assuming their memories and special abilities.
