According to the latest news from Shacknews, 3DRealms -- the longtime developer for Duke Nukem Forever, is shutting down.

On a related note, Deep Silver and Apogee Software have said that development of the Duke Nukem Trilogy (for the DS/ PSP) 'are not affected by the situation at 3D Realms.'

Will Dukem Nukem Forever become Duke Nukem Never?

Possibly, but Take-Two Interactive confirmed to Shacknews that it was not funding ongoing development of the 3D Realms project.

We can confirm that our relationship with 3D Realms for Duke Nukem Forever was a publishing arrangement, which did not include ongoing funds for development of the title. In addition, Take-Two continues to retain the publishing rights to Duke Nukem Forever.
Alan Lewis, VP of communications, Take-Two

As of this writing, the 3DRealms Web site appears to be down as well.
