"Lions" roars
You may recall my article from a couple of weeks back about a brave new play I'd seen called "Lions" by brave new playwright Vince Melocchi. Apparently a bunch of other people (some with actual clout) shared my opinion, because the play is due to be published by Samuel French. Which is, to put it in the vernacular, frigging cool.
This development means that forever forward, the names of the talented cast, designers, director and producers of this riveting topical drama will appear on the first page of the published script, following the paragraph: "'LIONS' by Vince Melocchi was first performed on October 24, 2008 at Pacific Resident Theatre in Venice, California." ALL RIGHTS RESERVED. Woo hoo.
For once, a deserving work of art gets some recognition. Tis the season.
