The country/rock group "The Michael Paul Band"  were kind enough to give us all a little peek into their musical world, enjoy!

What are your musical goals or aspirations? We want to put on an awesome show everywhere that we play. There is nothing more satisfying that watching a lot of people smiling and having a great time to our music! When they have fun, we have fun, and to us that is truly what it’s all about. We already have one CD out “It’s Cowboy Time” that was released in January 2008 but we are now playing more “Country Rock” and our next CD will lean more to the upper tempo songs.

What is your musical history ?
All members of our band have been playing in the Bay Area for at least 20 years each and some of us have played together in the past in one band or another. We all sing and most of the guys in our band sing lead at one time or another. The members in our band have opened for and/or played with some very big name bands! You can read more about each of us individually on our website.

Who or what are your influences and inspirations? We are known for being a Country/Southern Rock band but all of us actually have rock roots. We have the usual rock influences and add in our Country influences too – Toby Keith, George Strait, the Eagles, Brad Paisley, Dierks Bentley, Craig Morgan….we could go on forever. What’s not to like with all these talented musicians?

Where have you played? 6 Flags Great America, Blue Lake Casino, Bear Valley Casino, Walnut Festival, Contra Costa County Fair, Dixon May Fair, Relay for Life, Rio Vista Bass Derby Festival, Tradewinds Resort in Fort Bragg, numerous private shows for corporation events and weddings, and many local clubs!

When and where are upcoming shows? Brentwood Starry Nights Concert in the Park on Friday, June 19th 7 pm to 9 pm, Back 40 Texas BBQ on July 24th 7 pm, July 29th at the Streets of Brentwood located at Hwy 4 Bypass and Sand Creek Road. We have many shows coming up and are adding more constantly so the best way to find out about our shows is on our website at www.themichaelpaulband.com or on our Myspace at www.myspace.com/michaelpaulsings

Anything else you want the reader to know?
We are all about having fun – YOU having fun and we have a lot of little touches that we add to our show that people really seem to like. Our band slogans are: “These cowboys don’t just play music – we put on a show” and “The Michael Paul Band – taking the country by storm, one town at a time”. In the music industry, they want young, young, young. Well, we might not be in our 20’s but we have a lot of talent and experience in our band and the young and young at heart really seem to enjoy our music! Our fans mean a lot to us so if you do come to one of our shows, please catch on break or after the show – we would love to meet you! Speaking of shows – we are looking for some more air guitarists for our band! Please come out and give it a shot!

Support the bay area music scene. Peace!
