It was an average day in the life of Erin Andrews the ESPN sportscaster when she recognized her and the hotel room she stayed in and herself, naked in it on the internet. The ESPN reporter says that she was “videotaped through a peep hole and that she plans to take legal action against the still unknown perpetrators.” Marshall B. Grossman, Andrews’ attorney said that “She was the victim of a crime and is taking action to protect herself and help ensure that others are not similarly violated in the future.”
Erin has been working for ESPN since 2004 and has covered such sports as the NHL, college foot ball and basketball, MLB and the college world series. ESPN supports her actions fully. They state “Our people and resources are in full support of her as she deals with this abhorrent act.”
With her beauty she has quickly raised to fame. She was voted America’s Sexiest Sportscaster by Playboy in 2007 and 2008. Just because she dresses sexy and flaunts her beauty gives nobody the right to violate her like that. (I believe that beauty is another talent that people possess. Nobody has the right to take advantage of that!) In this day and age with technology abounding a lot of damage can be done over the internet before it can be stopped. Personally I would have felt violated. It would make it hard for me to trust people again, especially hotels. I would be careful where I stood the next time I changed my clothes. I have a sinking feeling that it was probably an employee of the hotel that supplied that camera or the information of where Erin was staying. How else would they have know who was staying in the room? Do you know who is staying in the room next to you when you stay at a hotel? I hope the perpetrators are caught soon and that in Erin’s case that justice is swift. I also hope that this is a huge warning to any other future voyeurs out there.
This poor woman isn’t getting any breaks. Before this story came out and 14 days ago she had to go to the hospital after being hit in the chin by a foul ball while reporting an MLB telecast.
