Ah, fall is upon us. The temperature has dipped below 90, the air is less humid, and the smell of beer is in the air. For some this means the excitement of changing leaves but for others it means the happiest season is upon us, Oktoberfest season!
The fabulous month of October always brings with it "beerfests" and "Oktoberfests" a plenty. Many local bars and venues ring in the fall season by celebrating beer, fun, and other festive activities. Good beer specials and delicious German food are just a few days away. Here are the details:
* Oktoberfest Bash at Bar Louie(Sand Lake Road) - On October 3 , from noon til 2 am, guests at Bar Louie can enjoy $3 drafts, $3 Sam Adams Oktoberfest bottles, $4 pretzels, and $3 brats all day long! One lucky fest-goer will also win $25 off their tab every day in October. Live music and free admission (21 and up) are just a few more perks.
* Oktoberfest at House of Beer (Hunters Creek) - I know what you are thinking? And yes, there is real heaven on earth called House of Beer. As if that wasn't tempting enough, the folks at this little treasure are celebrating Oktoberfest from 6 to 9 pm on October 3! Specials include unlimited German food and beer for $30 (advance) or $40 (at the door). The unlimited German libations include Franziskaner, Spaten Oktoberfest Ur-Marzen and Tucher.
As this is the first weekend of October there will be many more Oktoberfests to come (Avalon Park, Celebration, Silver Springs, Stardust Video, etc). As a fan of the season, I will keep you posted accordingly but this weekend eat, drink, and celebrate like the Germans do. The season of beer and brats is upon us!
