This Saturday two things that make many people happy are meeting under one roof. If your typical weekend consists of drinking beers with friends and searching for a spot to hear great music, why not do both this weekend at McRaney's Tavern or the Orlando Brewing Company?
Located in the heart of Winter Park, McCraney's Tavern is known for the fantastic Happy Hour specials, their delicious beer selection, and the fact that you and your friends can play a mean game of cornhole (or beanbag toss for those not in the know). Always one to please their patrons, McCraney's is hosting a Beer and Music Festival this Saturday, June 27. For the low, low price of $5 guests will enjoy a free flight of Terrapin beer (the company sponsoring the night) and live entertainment from Matt Hires (easy on the eyes and ears), Jeff Ilgenritz (of Mumpsy), and Oak Hill. I promise this offer isn't too good to be true. Specials of the night include $3.50 Terrapin Rye Ale, India Brown Ale, and $5 Terrapin Rye Squared and Side Project. In addition to the above mentioned goings-on, pizza will also be provided by Lola's Pizzeria (I believe food is NOT included in entry fee). This event is 21 and up, begins at 4 pm and lasts until you have to call it a night. You can't get much for $5 these days so take advantage of McCraney's generosity this Saturday.
Orlando Brewing Company receives my praises on a weekly basis and as I have not yet mentioned them this week...here goes!
This Saturday from 4 pm to 12 am, Orlando Brewing Company is bringing you the Brew-N-Groove Music Festival. Already known for its delicious ales and other libations, the brewery is showcasing the music of local artists such as Sonic Playground, Token Gamblers, Mr. Robert Johnson, The Human Condition, Mike Dunn & The Kings of New England, and The Legendary JC's. This event costs $10 in advance (tickets available at the brewery or through PayPal via the brewery website), $12 at the door and is a 21 and up event. All of the beers here are great in their own right and if you come for the music but want to see the inner workings on OBC, never fear, there is a FREE brewery tour at 6 pm.
It is not often enough that two of my favorite worlds collide but when they do, oh is it a great time! Come out to either (or both) of these events and enjoy great specials and fabulous live entertainment by talented people from the area.
