Once a year we all get to celebrate the Mexican culture; its fantastic beverages and even more fantastic food. Wearing a sombrero on a typical Tuesday but this Tuesday I encourage you to shake your maracas and put on your poncho because Orlando knows how to party. Every hot spot in town from college bars to tourist traps will be celebrating Cinco de Mayo style.

Here is the rundown:

Cinco de Mayo Block Party at Knight Library - from 2 pm to 2 am Knight's Library hosts a fun filled block party complete with live entertainment, drink specials ($2 Corona, Corona Lights, $2 Tequila Shots and Margaritas, $5 Patron shots). Patrons are encouraged to don their Mexican inspired gear and join in on the fiesta. Come before 7 pm for $5 cover.

Super Taco Tuesday at Wall St. Cantina - This 12-hour party begins at 2 pm and with no cover charge to pay, you will have plenty of money to spend on $2 tacos, $2 Coronas, Cantinaritas, and shots of tequila. Taco Tuesday is a much loved downtown special, so imagine the treat party-goers are in for as Cinco de Mayo falls on the Cantina's most fiesta-filled night of the week. With these amazing food and drink specials, the only thing you'll be left wanting is a day off work.

Latin Quarter at Citywalk - Who else would know how to celebrate Cinco de Mayo better than Latin Quarter? Do the words empanada, Dos Equis, and margaritas mean anything to you? With great drink specials, delicious Mexican food, and live entertainment, Latin Quarter promises a grande Cinco de Mayo celebration. Admission is free from 5 pm to 7 pm and switches to $5 after 7 pm. Get to the Latin Quarter before 10 pm and receive your first cerveza for free!

Of course, Cinco de Mayo wouldn't be the same without some great specials from our favorite local Mexican themed restaurants (no, I'm not talking about Taco Bell).

Tijuana Flats, the local staple for amazing nachos, drink specials, and hot sauce buffet, is hosting a Cinco de Mayo fiesta for the low key sombrero wearing partiers. While your local Tijuana will have their own drink specials, the location on University Blvd. is providing guests with $2 imports, $3 margaritas, and live bands. The party here goes until 1 am and drink specials are good all day. Check your with your local Tijuana Flats for their drink specials.

Amigo's - Waterford Lakes own little taste of Mexico is offering up $2 beers, $4 margaritas from 6 pm to 12 am. Order up a side of their tableside guacamole as you listen to the musical stylings of The Groupers, and take in the sweet taste of that delicious Mexican nectar simply known as tequila. Mix 105.1 will also be in attendance to give away tickets to Aerosmith and ZZ Top. What that has to do with Mexico I still don't know but it sounds like a good time.

Sombreros, maracas, tequila, Salma Hayek...haven't the Mexicans shared some of their best with us? Shouldn't we show them a bit of appreciation this Tuesday? Order up a cerveza my friends....Viva La Mexico!
