For the past 8 years Orlando has welcomed artists from all over the nation, given them each a stage, and encouraged them to rock. This amazing tradition is called Florida Music Festival and this Wednesday, May 13, prepare to be rocked yet again.

For 4 days on 15 stages throughout Orlando, 250 performances will inspire, unite, and electrify thousands of fans. Bands from all walks of life including alternative, hip hop, pop, country in addition to film makers and visual artists will be performing each and every night this Wednesday through Saturday. Never a dull moment, FMF brings music lovers to some of the most popular venues in town and not only gives them a slight beer buzz but ensures a great show. And in my opinion, these three things must always go hand in hand.

Wednesday night kicks off the festivities with the Florida Grammy Showcase and Locals Appreciation Night. FMF- goers can take their pick of more than 50 bands on 5 stages including Ft. Lauderdale native and American Pie star Thomas Ian Nicholas, who will be taking the stage with his band at Wall St. Plaza.

Thursday night Asher Roth will be headlining at Wall St. Plaza. With this hit I Love College in constant rotation, Asher will inevitably be an FMF hit. In addition, fifteen bands are scheduled to play at AKA Lounge, Backbooth, and The Social. As if the music weren't enough Beer Pong will be played at Wall St. Plaza while bands like Toy Horses provide the soundtrack.

Everyone who was anyone loved a good Filter song in the '90's. Admit it. If that "Take a Picture" song didn't get you, then clearly you just didn't own a radio. Regardless, the men of Filter are back this Friday night for FMF and will be rocking Wall St. for all those '90s kids once screamed the words, "Hey, Man Nice Shot!" Also performing Friday night downtown is Orlando native and local favorite, Plain Jane Automobile ( The Social).

Saturday night closes the show with performances by Orlando's own There for Tomorrow (Backbooth), who have just released their debut album, and Yellowman. With four days to rock anyway you want to, there's no reason to miss the Florida Music Festival. FMF truly brings out some of the most talented artists and some of the most devoted fans. If you haven't experienced it before, get your tickets or four day passes. Seeing great bands in all the best downtown bars and venues is an experience like no other. Many a canned beer has been enjoyed during the discovery of a new band, why not let that lucky person be you?

4 days passes in advance are $25 at www.wallstplaza.net/ or ticketmaster. Tickets are also available at the FMF website.
