Say the word "Bingo" and visions of musty civic centers, even mustier old people, and hot pink blotters come to mind. Hamburger Mary's has decided to put a little spin on the age old game of shouting letters and numbers in the hopes of collecting a whopping $20.
Ham-Bingo happens every Tuesday night (6 pm) at Hamburger Mary's downtown off of Church Street. Best known for its delicious, creative, and cleverly named burgers, this fun caricature of a hamburger joint has a fabulous happy hour and some of the nicest staff in town.
Ham-Bingo is hosted by Miss Sammy and Carol Lee, a couple of Parliament House divas who bring fun and humor to this normally laid-back past time. Happy Hour specials are in effect during Bingo and be sure to make sure you order your beer in Mary's Muscle Mug- I'm always tempted to sneak one out and bring it home. Also, be sure to make a reservation or get there early, this is one of Mary's busiest nights.
In addition to Ham-Bingo, Mary's shows most of the NFL games and will be showing the BCS Championship game. They also host Karaoke nights (Mary-oke), and Sunday Brunch. This is truly a burger diner like no other and definitely worth checking out. Gay, straight, man, woman, short or tall, Hamburger Mary's has something for everyone. After all, they did just revolutionize Bingo!
