Thursday stole Friday's cool

As events are planned and calendars fill up it seems that more often than not a lot of the unusual, yet fun things no longer happen on Friday. Sure, there are happy hours and drink specials but for the real good time, Thursday is where it's at.

This Thursday is not unlike the rest. In fact, here are two top notch things you should really check out:

Saul Williams at The Social - Maybe you caught him back in the day when he had incredible books (The Seventh Octave and She) or you may just know him from his latest albums -I won't even get mad if you only know "List of Demands" from the Nike commercial. Either way, Saul Williams is an amazing, brilliant, and incredibly talented artist who deserves an open mind and a good soul to check him out. How one man can conquer political raps, poetry, spoken word, songs, and now venture into making audiences headbang is beyond me, but Mr. Williams does it and he does it well. You can catch all that is Saul this Thursday at The Social. (Tickets are $15 advance / $17 day of show, (age 18 and up). Show starts at 9 pm.

Halfway to Cinco de Mayo at Wall Street - Some people countdown to St. Patrick's Day (or maybe that's just a personal thing) but others hold dear that one Mexican holiday that causes drunken debauchery of the best kind: Cinco de Mayo. While that blessed holiday seems so far away, the folks at Wall Street are throwing a Halfway to Cinco de Mayo party for your pleasure. Complete with half price specials on all the  best Mexican goodies: $1 tacos, $1 Coronas, $1 half shots of tequila, $1 half pints of margaritas.Grab your amigos and prepare for a fiesta so extreme you will need 6 months to recover.
