The WBShop.com continues to spruce up the Warner Archives page adding a "Listen Now" button, which opens a series of 14 podcasts.

Each podcast consists of an original radio adaptation of a classic film such as Podcast 1 of "Chained" featuring Joan Crawford, who starred in the 1934 film, and husband Franchot Tone, who did not--host George Feltenstein explains that Tone replaced Clark Gable, who was busy with another project. The real motive of the 1936 radio program, two years after the film, was to promote Crawford and Tone for their upcoming release, "The Gorgeous Hussy."

Each podcast opens with a Feltenstein introduction and then the original program itself airs. These are all free to access and available for immediate download.

Another item of importance I noticed on the home page was the annoucement that new Archives titles are released every 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month. If this is true, we should have a few more titles to announce on July 7.

In other Archive news, Video Business published the article "Warner expands reach of MOD titles" by Susanne Ault on July 1. The article notes the expanded availability of the Warner titles through outlets such as Amazon.com and TCM.com. Ault writes that "Warner Archive allows the titles to be sold elsewhere after a 90-day exclusivity window, and retailers seem to welcome the opportunity."
