Vivien Leigh

No Scarlett O'Hara on display today, but "Gone With the Wind" actress Vivien Leigh was born on this date in 1913 (d. 1967). Also celebrating a birthday today is Joel McCrea (1905-1990) and while you can't see his Sully of "Sullivan's Travels" on the TCM schedule today the classic film network still does all right by him airing 4 titles this afternoon.

Also born on this date was Roy Rogers (1911-1998), but I guess you'll have to hop over to a Western channel to find that celebrated on screen.

Complete schedules follow as well as a slideshow of vintage collectible images featuring the birthday pair.

TCM's Vivien Leigh birthday schedule:

6:00 am "Fire Over England" (1936) starring Laurence Olivier, Flora Robson, Vivien Leigh, D: William F. Howard

7:45 am "A Yank at Oxford" (1938) starring Robert Taylor, Maureen O'Sullivan, Vivien Leigh, D: Jack Conway

9:30 am "Waterloo Bridge" (1940) starring Vivien Leigh, Robert Taylor, Lucile Watson, D: Mervyn LeRoy

11:30 am "That Hamilton Woman" (1941) starring Vivien Leigh, Laurence Olivier, Sara Allgood, D: Alexander Korda

TCM's Joel McCrea birthday schedule:

1:45 pm "Woman Wanted" (1935) starring Maureen O'Sullivan, Joel McCrea, Lewis Stone, D: George B. Seitz

3:00 pm "Primrose Path" (1940) starring Ginger Rogers, Joel McCrea, Marjorie Rambeau, D: Gregory La Cava

4:45 pm "Stars in My Crown" (1950) starring Joel McCrea, Ellen Drew, Dean Stockwell, D: Jacques Tourneur

6:15 pm "The Outriders" (1950) starring Joel McCrea, Arlene Dahl, Barry Sullivan, D: Roy Rowland

Following Thursday's birthday celebrations TCM launches it's first night of coverage of November's Star of the Month, Grace Kelly. Beginning at 8 TCM will show Kelly in "Fourteen Hours" (1951), "High Noon" (1952), and "Mogambo" (1953) which runs until 1:30 am.

Following is our birthday slideshow of vintage collectibles--first 5 of Vivien Leigh followed immediately by 5 other old images of Joel McCrea.
