Juicy chicken!
I mean, look how good it looks. Photo courtesy of DCist.

Cheap, quality food in D.C. is such a rarity, and that's why I was overjoyed to discover El Pollo Sabroso right behind the Target in Columbia Heights. Their broiled chicken is unbelievable; ten bucks buys you a whole chicken, complete with rice, salad, and their delicious Peruvian green sauce. We ordered four whole chickens and it was ready in thirty minutes, so it's fast, too.

The broiled chicken is herb-y, crispy on the outside, and juicy on the inside. Past reviewers on Yelp have said that "it may be cheaper than raw chicken," which I guess, is true in a sense, and is known in D.C. as "the chicken place in Columbia Heights," so there's been some hype around it for some time now.

The side dishes are whatever, but let's be real: the chicken is really the important thing here.
