Cheap books alert!

Cookbooks aren't exactly the cheapest things in the world, and why even bother buying a cookbook when you can just get the recipe off of the Food Network Web site? (Well, that's easy...because they're pretty, they look good on a shelf, and they make fabulous gifts).

Second Story Books was such a find for me. I mean, it's in the most obvious tourist-y place in DC, right in the heart of Dupont Circle, but their cookbook section is pretty amazing. They've got something in there for everyone, and I was able to score a first edition French cookbook by the artist Toulouse Lautrec from 1966 for nine bucks. Not bad, right? They've got a fantastic selection, from cheesy retro 70s cookbooks (totally rad!) to vegan Indian food books. Take a gander, I promise you won't be sorry!
