A while back I covered an event with the members of XceedSpeed.com, a Michigan-based enthusiast group comprised mainly of import cars, although they welcome all makes and models.  The early morning rain did keep away some people and even though there was a good turnout, members of the XceedSpeed group are hosting another BBQ at Stoney Creek Metropark.

Whether you drive an import or domestic, this is a great chance to come out and see some of the more heavily modified cars in the area that you generally won’t find at the local vintage car shows.  All that they ask is that people who come to the show respect the speed limits and traffic patterns of the Metropark to avoid causing problems for the group.  The last BBQ had cars from around the world, from tuners to muscle cars, and the same spread is expected this time!

This show is free to all, and the BBQ organizers will be providing some burgers, hot dogs, and buns, but they ask that if you plan to partake in the free food that you also bring something to share.  Key items to bring along are ice, cans of drinks (not beer), side items like chips, and paper products (cups, napkins, plates, etc).  Contributions of meat and bread products are also welcome, especially if you plan to arrive with a group of people.

For those unfamiliar with Stoney Creek Metropark, it is a great area with many picnic pavilions, fishing areas, boating, biking, and a wide variety of other activities.  Entry to the park for the day is $4, but a year pass can be purchased for just $20.  Once you have entered the park, you want to head to Winter Cove by turning towards the left after entering the park (click here for a park map).  Follow that road around and the Winter Cove area will be on your right (the entrance is well past where you will first see the cars).  The BBQ is planned to run from 10am until dusk, with the peak hours of the last BBQ being between 11-3 or so, so if youre in the area this Saturday, head to Stoney Creek Metropark and check out some of the best looking late model cars in the area.

Event Information:

Date: Saturday, June 6th
