In 1999, Jesus Soto- one of the most relevant Venezuelan kinetic artist-  made one of his ludic Penetrables in our city, in the midst of the Wynwood District, now on permanent view  at the Durban Segnini space.  Today, one decade later, the Durban Segnini Gallery is presenting to us the Jesus Soto catalogue: Penetrable, a fully illustrated catalogue with foreword by Carlos M. Luis.
Jesús Soto (Ciudad Bolivar, Venezuela, June 5, 1923 – Paris, France, January 14, 2005) was a sculptor and painter and is most famous for his op art  and kinetic art works. He is considered one of the founders of kinetic art that involves motion and the spectator’s action. His Penetrables are interactive and ludic sculptures, which consist of square arrays of thin, dangling tubes through which spectator, can walk.
