1. The Ghost- This costume is simple enough and can be created with an old white sheet. Cut out holes for the eyes, and a slit for the mouth. Be sure the sheet isn't so long that the child trips.

2. The Pirate- Find old pants and an old shirt. Cut the legs to desired length and then cut uneven triangles around the bottom of the legs. Do the same with the shirt. Using another old scrap of cloth, tie a bandanna around the child's head (you can also make a cloth belt this way).

3. The Nerd- This one is simple. Pair of pants with a white buttoned, pocket shirt, short or long sleeve will do. Place pens in the pocket. Find an old pair of glasses, and remove the lens so you don't hurt the child's eyes. Place masking tape around the center of the glasses. You can also use sunglasses for this. Slick back the child's hair with gel.

4. The Witch- For this one you may have to spend a little cash, but just a little. Purchase a cheap witches hat and a cheap broom. Dress the child in all black. A dress, pants, and shirt. Anything as long as it is all black. You may also make a cape with a black sheet or purchase a cheap cape at the store. Put on heavy black eyeliner and black lipstick. Paint the child's nails black.

5. A God or Goddess- Using any color sheet the child wishes, wrap the sheet around the child like a toga. Make sure it is pinned securely in all the right places, and have them wear shorts and a tee underneath. The toga can be decorated with fabric paints, glitter, or ribbons. Place flowers or leaves in the child's hair.
